Next week I will be a published author for this first time in my life. Coldwater, my first novel is about to be published. The moment I have longed for, the moment I have dreaded. The book goes public, the baby is born, its fate is cast to the winds.
The hard part is done, now it’s time to let go, and let the book find its audience.
Oh, yeah? Not so fast.
Turns out, not only do writers need to write books that people want to read, it is up to them to reach out and find those readers, and the way to do that is with a blog
I have always believed that the word “blog” comes from the root, “blah, blah, blah.”
But hereon in, I will be blogging, as a way of finding you, dear readers, and letting you know about my book. And the way to do this, is to let you know about things other than my book, that you also want to know about.
Eventually, this blog will be about topics other than me, and my crime novel, Coldwater, which I am describing as a “femme noir” thriller.
But right now I really want to take note of this very special moment. I have wanted to be an author since I was nine years old. It took me years to do it. I wrestled with the angels and the demons to arrive at this point, and now, the moment has come. The book is waiting in the wings, the curtain is about to rise.
I hope you like the book.
Loved your blog, know I’ll love the book. About time for femme noir!
